Saturday 23rd June - Bristol Mendips - British Beef All Fords

Bristol’s British Beef meeting attracted a good turnout of 35 cars, including 3 Aftermath and 4 Predators from EA.  There
were 9 Capri’s, and 4 a piece for the Sierra and Mondeo.  More impressive were the 18 Cortina’s, including Mk 4’s for
418 Ben Edwards and 502 Kai May with an Estate and Saloon respectively, and the top car, a Mk 3 for 309 Andy Oliver.

All out for Heat 1 with 414 James Ellerker starting the action turning 59 Mike Jones up the wall on the bottom bend,
before finding the wall hard himself.  A pileup soon formed on the exit of the top bend with 51 Wusty and 309 Andy
Oliver both involved, 899 Andy Dodge taking a shot off of 273 Alan Cambridge in the mess.  364 Darren Feltham stuck it
to 135 James Astell before being done himself by 603 Jon Cooper.  453 jacked 517 Weldon, the former taking a shot
off of 79 Twelly, who was done in turn by 452 Lurch.  400 Shinny jacked 452 Lurch before 418 Ben Edwards absolutely
slaughtered 96 Brat before 519 Jon Scorse completed the pile up with a heaving jacking on 74 Dave Carter.  The reds
appeared, and bearing in mind we still hadn’t completed a lap a full restart was in order.  As the flag dropped 401
Psycho walled 418 Edwards as 58 Martin Dalton spun 879 Reg Reed.  603 Cooper followed in 7 Jamie Charles before
spinning 59 Mike Jones.  879 Wrecked Reg attacked 44 Steve Griffin. 401 Psycho slaughtered 7 Jamie Charles on the
home straight, with 400 Shinny giving the already very bent Cortina another big hit, with the waved yellows appearing for
603 Cooper, with a hand injury.  401 Psycho walled 58 Dalton as the green flags appeared again, with 418 Ben Edwards
also finding the wall courtesy of 400 Shinny.  83 Bevan stuck it to 400 Shinny as 401 Psycho took a full contact victory
with just four going the distance.

Down to 24 for Heat 2 and it was explosive stuff once again.  A big train went in with 79 Twelly on the back of Weldon,
Cambridge and May allowing the lively 418 Edwards to nail 273 Cambridge.  A pile up began to form on the bottom bend
this time with 519 Jon Scorse hitting the wall hard, and 899 Andy Dodge and 401 Psycho also involved.  879 Wrecked
Reg dish out a big t-bone to 309 Andy Oliver in the pile up.  The reds appeared to clear the track, and 16 took part in
the restart.  400 Shinny followed in 364 Darren Feltham with 83 Bevan walling 300 Ayles and 602 Cooper with the latter
recovering to t-bone 309 Andy Oliver on the bottom bend before taking a shot from 300 Ayles.  58 Dalton got caught up
in the pile up and was lengthed by 400 Shinny as a result, with 830 Finchy giving Shinny an equally big hit.  44 Steve
Griffin stuck it to 517 Weldon infront of the starters box and was nailed by the lively 83 Bevan with only four going the
distance once again.

1st 51 Jon Worsencroft, 2nd 49 Rob Bevan, 3rd 83 Andy Bevan, 4th 502 Kai May

A good field of 24 once again for the Final with 401 Psycho spinning 502 Kai May and 79 Twelly doing a similar move on
414 James Ellerker.  401 Psycho dished out a massive hit to 29 Dave Dalton with 5 Spike gamely giving the Mondeo a
big hit in his Sierra before 502 Kai May turned round and stopped Psycho.  83 Bevan followed 74 Dave Carter into
Psycho leaving 315 Jason Ayles nowhere to go, which allowed 517 Weldon a big hit on the Sierra Estate.  74 Dave
Carted t-boned May off the centre before 83 Bevan jacked 51 Wusty, with 59 Mike Jones finishing off the 51 car en-
route to the win ahead of Bevan and Mills.

1st 59 Mike Jones, 2nd 83 Andy Bevan, 3rd 404 Rob Mills, 5th 44 Steve Griffin, 6th 74 Dave Carter

Just 4 came back for the DD with a lot of racing before 44 Griffin walled 400 Shinny, the latter coming across the Fig 8
to finish 300 Ayles, before expiring, leaving 44 Griffin as the last car running, although Griffin nailed Shinny, a move
which got the Anglian going again, although it was Griffin who took the win
