There were 67 cars in the pits for todays meeting, the best cars were a Nissan 100 NX driven by 462 Kev Elmore & a Mitsubishi Space Wagon for 312 Greig Cheeseman . The smartest car was 456 Nathan Roberts Cavalier which never ran last week. First up was the Ladies race, which attracted 22 cars. Early on 323 Liz Williams t-boned 326 Tracey Woolner, 505 Theresa Hepherd was walled by 383 Katie Goulding, with 32 Stacey Smith also walling 543 Dawn Telfer who was also followed in by 101 Nikki Allkins. 457 Lee Aslett was t- boned by 327 Sharon Worthington. 585 Becky Shuttleworth took a wild ride up the inner kerb on the pit bend after a push from 326 Woolner. The stationary 346 Leanne Priel was then hit head- on by 383 Goulding who recovered only to hit the wall heavily unaided on the next straight. On the last bend leader 32 Smith was spun onto the centre & gave the stationary 262 Tracey White a big t-bone after a shove by 326 Woolner. The race being won by 647 Sue Davies, on the run- down lap 326 Woolner was hit hard by 323 Williams to conclude another lively Ladies race. Results:- 1st 647 Sue Davies, 2nd 326 Tracey Woolner, 3rd 323 Liz Williams, 4th 188 Auntie Junk, 5th 327 Sharon Worthington, 6th 200 Theresa Bowers, 7th 32 Stacey Smith, 8th 737 Sharleen Mitchell, 9th 260 Ashlie Clift, 10th 312 Mandy Cheeseman Up to 28 cars for heat 1, the action kicked off with 242 Ricky Korpiela being t-boned by 250 Carl Howard. 501 John Morris was in the wars being walled by 189 John Poulton & then hit hard by 250 Howard. Then 498 Jason Curtis was t- boned by 474 Anthony Oak. The Creams/Runners war then kicked off with 208 Jimmy Randall walling 249 Jimmy Harding who retaliated with a t- bone to Randall. 474 Oakey ran in & heavily walled Gladiator 623 Richard Last. 208 Randall received a big hit from 395 Steven Hale, Randall turned around & had a big head-on with 249 Harding, this started a train with 331 Boxer Jack following in Harding, Boxer being done by 567 Gary Brown with 242 Korpiela completing the train in the back of Browns motor. While this was happening 27 Andy Reynolds took the win in a lively race. Results :- 1st 27 Andy Reynolds, 2nd 49 Billy King, 3rd 47 Andy Davies, 4th 549 Phil Smith, 5th 189 John Poulton, 6th 67 Gary Greenland, 7th 174 Dave Osborne, 8th 462 Kev Elmore, 9th 415 Paul Hawkes, 10th 349 Lewis Price There were 23 cars for heat 2, with 312 Greig Cheesman first t-boning 345 Craig Hewitt then putting 160 John Harding into the wall. 345 Chewy then suffered further being spun by 10 Paul Whiteman & then t-boned by the following 321 Lee Caunter. A much quieter race was won by 101 Garry Deacon who celebrated by picking up 10 Whiteman on the back straight & giving him a big follow in on the run-down lap. Results:- 1st 101 Garry Deacon, 2nd 200 Wayne Holton, 3rd 326 Mark Woolner, 4th 188 Matt Fuller, 5th 456 Nathan Roberts, 6th 737 Jamie Mitchell, 7th 246 Andy Spooner, 8th 63 Paul Ruskin, 9th 267 Steven Carter, 10th 128 Joe Warner The next race was the Consolation, which had a larger grid of 32 cars. The action was started by 323 Sam Rigby who gave 160 John Harding a t-bone. On the pit bend a spun 498 Jason Curtis gave 10 Paul Whiteman a meaty head-on which allowed Giggler 255 Danny Marsden to follow-in Whiteman. 160 John Harding & 242 Ricky Korpiela had a head- on, & the wars continuing with 208 Jimmy Randall giving 255 Marsden a follow-in. 383 Jeff Smith was then followed in by 647 Simon Moody, then 589 Simon Smith gave 474 Anthony Oak a big follow-in on the pit bend. 539 Michael Outen & 208 Jimmy Randall had a head-on, with 647 Moody & 262 Kevin Lee doing the same. 383 Smith was t-boned by 331 Boxer who then had a head-on with 539 Outen, which allowed team-mate 567 Gary Brown to follow-in Boxer, 620 James Avison then followed-in 567 Brown. 539 Outen carried on & t-boned 10 Whiteman, with the last action of the race being 312 Greig Cheeseman giving 345 Chewy a t-bone. A much more exciting race won by 64 Barry Lee. Results:- 1st 64 Barry Lee, 2nd 346 Kirk Bodnar, 3rd 615 Dan Parry, 4th 589 Simon Smith, 5th 353 Andy Crawford, 6th 620 James Avison, 7th 323 Sam Rigby 26 cars for the final, early on 174 Dave Osborne & 27 Andy Reynolds had a head-on. 353 Andy Crawford was then followed in by 349 Lewis Price. Fellow Gladiator 549 Phil Smith spun 101 Garry Deacon, which allowed 188 Matt Fuller to give Deacon a big t-bone with 47 Andy Davies also hitting the stricken Creamster. 27 Reynolds was then walled by 246 Andy Spooner then followed in by 349 Price, 246 Spooner was then spun & t-boned by 63 Paul Ruskin. 349 Price concluded the race action walling 47 Davies. 456 Nathan Roberts taking the win. Results:- 1st 456 Nathan Roberts, 2nd 49 Billy King, 3rd 47 Andy Davies, 4th 67 Gary Greenland, 5th 549 Phil Smith, 6th 188 Matt Fuller, 7th 200 Wayne Holton, 8th 64 Barry Lee, 9th 737 Jamie Mitchell, 10th 620 James Avison 35 cars out for the Rawlins qualifier, the Creams/Runners conflict kicked off straight away with 539 Michael Outen followed in by 188 Matt Fuller, 249 Jimmy Harding was followed in by 501 John Morris. 160 John Harding & 331 Boxer Jack had a head-on to renew their acquaintance. 345 Chewy & 543 Mark Telfer also shared a head-on. 63 Paul Ruskin then followed in 321 Trigger, with 208 Jimmy Randall also following-in 249 Harding. 105 Billy Standing took the win in his first Banger meeting after graduating from the Ministox. On the same lap 456 Nathan Roberts attacked 27 Andy Reynolds whose car mounted the inner kerb & dramatically rolled, unfortunately the momentum of Roberts car took him in heavily into the roof of Reynolds prone car bringing out instant red flags, & a long stoppage with the roof being removed from Andy’s car to help him out, & subsequently an ambulance ride. The cars were then gridded up so that the DD could start, 63 Ruskin followed in 620 James Avison, with 312 Greig Cheeseman following in Ruskin. Cheeseman then had a head-on with 267 Steve Carter, further head-ons were shared by 620 Avison & 326 Mark Woolner, & Cheeseman & 349 Lewis Price. Cheeseman then being followed-in by Woolner. Now we just had assorted Gladiators left, 589 Simon Smith & 267 Carter had a head-on, this allowed 457 Danny McCormack to follow-in Smith. McCormack gave Smith a further hit, then 321 Trigger who only found out he was driving this morning, weighed in with the final hit on Smith to win the DD. Results:- 1st 105 Billy Standing, 2nd 47 Andy Davies, 3rd 67 Gary Greenland Last Car Running :- 321 Lee Caunter Overall a very entertaining meeting with the wars coming to the fore, this week the Creams came out slightly on top against the Runners. Obviously the meeting was marred by the nasty looking crash to 27 Andy Reynolds who we hope is OK. |
