| 05/11/2005 - Ipswich - Unlimited Bangers Gala Night Just under 50 cars for second Gala Night of the season, this one being at Ipswich. There were visitors in town from PRI, RDC and Trackstar including a big raiding party of Gladiators from PRI. Many had made the effort to find something different, with a few Jags amongst the pack, the pick being 401 Psycho’s Series 2 XJ6, and 211 Steptoe’s immaculate Series 3. 726 Retard Roy had a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow that was on running gear whilst 439 Danny Sutton turned on the style once again with an Austin 3 Litre and 462 Leeky impressed with a tidy DS420 Hearse. On the Jap from 10 Paul Whiteman returned his Crown from Arlington Gala Night, whilst 873 Roger Fuller paraded a Laurel. 425 Martin Stopher returned his Ford LTD from last year’s meeting, whilst 564 Coatie and 33! Simon Reed had their much talked about Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse and Flower Car respectively. 38 cars appeared on track for Heat 1, with 179 The Leg-end being turfed aside by 53 Garmo as the flag dropped. 380 Shakey spun out 457 Danny McCormack, with 564 Coatie nailing the Glad over the front wheel. 196 Stu Palmer nailed 726 Retard’s Roller over the backwheel before backing into the traffic and being duly nailed by 53 Garmo. 564 Coatie finished 457 McCormack, beforing jacking the 263 Volvo well. The reds appeared for McCormack who was shaken up after the treatment from Coatie, on the restart 439 Sutton had 287 Gizmo out, as 380 Shaky jacked 326 Picton, allowing 10 Whiteman in for a big head on with the Cream Teamster. World Champ 188 Fuller turned 439 Sutton aside as 33! Simon Reed nailed 161 Flash on the top bend as 802 Dave Shipp took the win. 19 motors for a quieter Heat 2, with 589 Smiffy Jnr having 425 Stopher’s yank out from the off, with 401 Psycho doing a similar move on 555 Anthoney Clarke. 425 Stopher stuck it to 564 Coatie, with 560 Steve Ward walling the Yank Hearse. 401 Psycho wiped 589 Simon Smith around the Armco as 555 Anthoney Clarke fired up 53 Garmo. 564 Coatie jacked up 555 Clarke, and they were soon joined by 589 Smiffy Jnr, as 401 Psycho ran him all the way in. 560 Action Man nailed 401 Psycho allowed 33! The Legend in for a stonking shot on Action Man, the reds appearing allowing him to exit his well mullered Volvo, the win going in favour of 188 Matt Fuller. 29 came back for the Final, after what seemed like an eternity of Caravan Stunts and Fireworks! 179 Phillips jacked 564 Coatie from the world go, with 733 Picton firing up the RDC young gun. The luckless Coatie was then nailed by 401 Psycho whilst 179 Phillips spun 437 Chris Bailey. 537 Bruno 247 Lee Clarke with 33! The Legend t-boning the Jag big time. 188 Matt Fuller jacked 380 Shakey and put him into the Armco, allowing 726 Retard in for a dodgy shot over the drivers side back wheel. Fuller came to a standstill leaving him wide open to a simply massive t-bone from 179 Jamie Phillips, who was putting on a decent show. The waved yellows then appeared to allow 188 Fuller out of his wasted motor, as the race resumed 589 Smiffy Jnr turned round, looking for 348 Mushy, and attacked him inside out, luckily not making contact, as 250 Bucky spun 401 Psycho, who immediately backed him into the fence, allowed 537 Bruno to destroy the Spedeworth man, 401 Psycho kept his foot down to fire up 589 Smiffy Jnr on oppo, as 802 Dave Shipp took the heat and final double. A respectable 11 came back for the DD, with 10 Whiteman giving 380 Shakey some attention, with the latter being rolled into the shale by 401 Psycho. 53 Garmo nailed 10 Whiteman over the front wheel as on the top bend 263 walled 33! Simon Reed with 401 Psycho t-boning the Legend, with 53 Garmo in turn nailing Psycho. 401 Psycho was on form, doing 856 Lee Basham over the back wheel, as 10 Whiteman jacked 53 Garmo. 10 Whiteman picked up 401 Psycho and followed him into 33! Off the shale, snapping Psycho’s Jag nicely and ending his lively show. 326 Paul Picton jacked 263 on oppo, as 10 Whiteman gave 412 Spike an enormous shot, leaving the Runner open to a hit from 53 Garmo over the front wheel, with only Whiteman pulling away to win the DD.
